Job Description: Fresher - Junior / Senior Research Fellowship (JRF/SRF) Programme
Candidate Profile Minimum eligibility SRF/JRF: Post Graduate with first class / CGPI 6.0 in the relevant engineering branch in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Metallurgy, Material Science, Cryogenics with consistently high level of academic record and aptitude for research.
Selection: Suitable candidates shall be called for interview. Selection is based on Interview.
Duration: Duration of research fellowship will be two years with a provision of extension up to six months in exceptional cases.
Evaluation of Project: The progress of the research project will be evaluated every three months by the evaluation committee.

About CPRI:
CPRI is renowned research and testing organization in India, serving the power sector. CPRI desires to recruit junior and senior research fellows to carry out research & development in various areas related to power sector. The broad areas of R&D are power system analysis and simulation, RLA and Diagnostics, Microzonation and Ground Motion, automation, advanced metallurgy for coatings, pollution studies for UHV AC/DC insulators, lightning, distributed generation, Cryogenics etc.
As a part of the research initiative of CPRI, a Junior/Senior Research Fellowship Programme is being launched. Under this programme a Junior/Senior Research Fellow will work full time at CPRIs Centre for Collaborative & Advanced Research (CCAR) on a research theme for two years (extendable up to six months). Necessary laboratory, computational facilities shall be provided. The research work carried out by the Junior/Senior Research Fellow can be a part of his/her, Doctorate work. During the programme, the Senior Research Fellow will get a monthly stipend of Rs 18,000 and Junior Research Fellow will get Rs 15,000 per month.

How To Apply:
Remuneration and other facilities:
1. SRF shall get Rs 18,000/ (Eighteen thousand rupees only) per month
2. JRF shall get Rs 15,000/ (Fifteen thousand rupees only) per month
3. SRF and JRF shall get up to Rs 25,000 (Twenty five thousand rupees only) as a lump sum payment per year, based on the recommendation of R&D project committee.
4. Reimbursement of expenditure up to Rs. 20,000/- (Twenty Thousand only) during the programme for contingency purpose.
5. The researchers will stay at CCAR within the CPRI premises.
6. Necessary infrastructure facilities like library, office work space, computing facilities will be provided.
7. Expenditure towards attending seminars/training programmes will be provided as per CPRI norms.
Other terms:
1. While CPRI will have exclusive rights on the -ion of research subject & research findings. Research Fellow may be permitted to extend his/her research work for the award of Doctoral/Post Doctoral degree.
2. The research programme is on tenure basis only and CPRI will be under no obligation to provide permanent employment to SRF/JRF. Research fellows with right aptitude may be engaged for consultancy work carried out in CPRI.
3. The SRF/JRF would work at CPRI units, or at Sites of Project implementing organizations.
4. Although age is not a criteria, preferred age group is 22 – 35 years
