How to answer for the HR questions in the interview?

I finished BE cse, i went to an interview in the INFOSYS.I cleared in written exam and then went for HR interview. My HR asked me that, Why u kept few arrears in the first four semesters? i answered that i was not feeling well during that time. This answer was not acceceptable by her and i was rejected. But i cleared all the arrears in the fifth sem. Please tell me how to answer for that query.

Truthfully. I would get the college or institution to write a letter verifying what happened and a letter from a dean, professor or someone official explaining what happened and how you overcame it.

This would turn a potential negative into a positive as it would show that you are not afraid of hard work.
