About installing Oracle.?

I tried to install oracle on my PC. The 1st CD installation was okay but when i inserted 2nd CD no progress was noted i waited very long but the process stopped there. I thought that there was a problem with the CD so i brought another CD from my friend but still the same problem was there. Please help me out. I am also not able to install VB.

what's version of oracle do you install?
In Oracle 9i, CD2 & 3 have a folder with name "stage".
when installer wants the next CD, You should change the CD and press Enter to continue.
check your administration and also check the CD surface.

Hii ... Before starting the installation please see system requirements for Oracle and check if ur system is satisfying them... If ur using 10G then ur system shud have atleast 512MB Ram... Even for Oracle 9i u require good Ram.. If these conditions are satisfied then start the installation..
