A lot depends upon your background.

Either go in for hardcore DBA course. Or plunge into Oracle Financial, for which you need to have programming language too. Either way you need to get knowledge in PL/SQL, SQL Language, Oracle Database.

If you want to opt for programming, then it's a different stream all together.

Ps. Now a days Oracle is more than a database.

First Oracle has a very good scope in India as well as in any country. But just knowing the oracle is not enough. My suggestion is that first u go through some training with some good institute. then take a job in oracle field and then go for Oracle DBA certificate course side by side. So till than u will finish your DBA , you will have atleast 2-3 years of experience. It will boost your market value and u will be on very good position

hi shradha!
any rdbms has tremendous scope anywhere in the world since no business can run without data. so where there is data there will be a database.
both sql server and oracle have huge potential. so u can surely go for oracle. if u r more interested in databases then try to give the oracle dba starter exams.
check out their website for in depth knowledge on the latest oracle technologies and start on them
all the best!
