For ASP, do you refer to classic ASP or ASP.NET?
Classic ASP is getting out of date. In fact, people start moving to ASP.NET 2.0.
If you really want to learn ASP, don't waste your money on book. Instead, go to http://www.w3schools.com/asp/default.asp, it is very easy to learn classic ASP from there.
As for ASP.NET, I recommend you to visit http://www.asp.net/learn/, or if you really want to learn from book, read "ASP.NET 2.0: A Developer's Notebook". That's very good start.
For PHP, either go to http://www.php.net or read "Beginning PHP and MySQL 5" to start.

Hope this helps.
