Ok the first every sighting of Austraila was in 1606, which was way after noah ark. As we all know Australia has animals that you can find no where else on the planet, so how on earth did they manage to get those animals one of each i might add on that boat since Australia was cut of from the rest of the world untill 1606. Paul B i know all that thanks for saying though, this question was for what the bible saying on things, and your dates don't even exsit in the bible, so i was looking for the christains take on things.

During the Great Flood there was unprecedented geothermal and geological upheaval. Basically, God built a whole new Earth. That changed things from pre-Flood configurations drastically.

Oh boy, where to start... Firstly, the Aborigines might disagree with you that Australia wasn't sighted until 1606. They'd been living there for several thousand years before Europeans stumbled onto the place. Australian animals - by that I presume you mean the marsupials. Marsupials are not unique to Australia. They are also found in South America. There's a reason for this. South America and Australia were once connected. Around 167 million years ago the supercontinent of Gondwana began to break up - that supercontinent was made up of Antarctica, South America, India and Africa. The connection of these land masses explains the existence of closely related species in what today are geographically distinct regions. So, as you can see, Australia was not "cut off from the rest of the world until 1606". It was very much connected to the rest of the world (or a good part of it anyway) for several million years. And, believe it or not, Australia was first sighted by humans loooong before it made its way onto European maps.

Could it be possible that Alexander the Great did not 'conquer the whole world' in literal form. He 'conquered the whole world' that he understood as being the world? As with Noah who was supposed to survive 'a flood that covered the whole world' which actually covered the whole world that he understood. I think that Noah experienced a flood that covered the Atlantic. It might have affected Australia, but it didn't flood Australia like it did the immediate continents in it's periphery.

| Plate Tectonics take millions and millions of years to notice. Ever wonder why the shape of the Eastern side of South America Exactly matches the Western side of Africa? Australia is the same way. It actually is part of a plate that used to be just west of China. Japan sits on the edge of that same plate which is why they have so many earthquakes. Oh, and BTW, Dinosaur bones have been found in Australia dating back to the Cretaceous period. (that's way before 1606)
