Default Isn't it illegal for a company to remain open when they are turning off...

...the water for the entire day?
We've talked to the big wigs about it and they say just to go next door to the powerhouse gym to use their bathrooms. I think this is a wrong and cheap excuse.

yes, it is wrong because they are not providing you with basic services.

No, there's no law against it. If there is where you live, I'd be shocked. Also, I'm pretty sure they don't even have to have bathrooms in their facility if they don't want to. Good night!

If you work in a strip mall then you will remain open. if it is the water company fixing something you will remain open!
most companys are considerate and let you go home i can see your place isn't this nice!
but i don't think it is illegal!
my water company came to one of my business said the water was going to be out for at least 3 hours! it was out 7 hours most of the day! we were in a strip mall only our water was effected!

State Health Department regulations vary, but unless you are a food service location, it probably isn't illegal.

I don't know if it is illigal or not, but if it is a problem, make an anonymous phonecall to the county health dept

I agree with you but I think it is only against the law if they are a food service or in the public health related fields.Call the health dept. and check.
