Can you figure out this riddle (brain teaser)?

Okay this one's a classic

You're in the basement and there are 3 light switches down there that control three lightbulbs upstairs. You have to determine which switches control which light bulbs upstairs but you can only go upstairs once. How do you do it?

leave one light on for about 5min. turn it off. turn the second one on and the last one off. then go into the room the heated light bulb is the first switch,the one thats on is 2nd, and the one thats off is 3rd

sorry to say, but i'm not planning on sitting around for days on end waiting for your riddles.

Anyway I've heard this one before and the first person has it right, you have to leave one on for 5 minutes or so, then turn it off and turn on another one.
