Do you think winning points for solving riddles defeats the purpose of the point

system? I am personally not a fan of having people post quizzes and have people score points for them. Here's why. I'm relatively new to Yahoo! Answers, but not new to doing Q&A sites like this.

When I see a point system, to me, the main purpose of it is to measure seniority and to an extent, reliability of answers. When someone posts a trivia game that gives away 10 points for free, I'm very upset at the fact that someone is basically cheating the system and winning points for solving pointless riddles.

Come on now, does the point system accurately show reliability now, or just how good you are at puzzle games? This is a place to learn and get new knowledge IMO, not a trivia site

I wish solving riddles and punchlines for jokes would be outlawed from this site. That's how I stand.
