 riddle involving a 40ft cliff and a 30 foot rope, i can't solve it, can anyone help? a friend of mine gave me a riddle/puzzle, if i can give him the correct answer before work is over, he owes me a beer. if not then i have to buy him a beer. here's the riddle you are on the top of a 40 foot cliff, there is a ledge halfway down the cliff (20 ft). you need to get to the bottom of the cliff but you only have a 30ft rope. how do you get down from the cliff? i asked and jumping or falling that extra 10 feet is not allowed... apparently calling someone with a helicopter is out of the question too :P (or a person with a longer bit of rope  ).can anyone help me solve this puzzle?      |
