Dominator lol.

Well do it then ! The guys who wrote linux had to wrote C++ before to do it. A group of genius together can co pretty much anything. Organize yourself with a group of genius and be a part of the computer history.

Do it then. lol...

The OS market is hard to break into, you need a good amount of capital and a solid team to compete anymore. Unfortunately, a brand new OS would take a quite a bit of cash to get going, and a few years to get off the ground. The bar for an OS has been raised pretty high.

Compatibility is the other big issue stopping a new OS from emerging. Developers make software for Windows and Mac...and that's about it.

So if you're going to create a new OS, you need a ton of cash, and you need to make it such that it works with the software out there without developers having to do anything.

At this point, it has become "inventing a better mousetrap" as well. People stick with what works.

No one is actively developing a brand new OS platform right now...at least, not to compete with Windows and Mac. There just isn't the developer support out there. Not to say there won't be in the future. Linux has made a massive amount of progress in the past couple of years...partly thanks to Vista being such a steaming pile of...well, you know...

Because in order to create an operating system, you need a few things:

A company
A brand name
A lot of funding and investment. $$$.

Unfortunately the money part is what india lacks.
Unless someone were to come up with an open source OS that was better than linux itself, there isn't really any need to since there are more than enough OS's out there (and its a pain trying to standardise them).
