    Default Should I send a resume to my employer via email in PDF or DOC format? Or is there...

     

    ...a better format? I've always wondered what the buisness standard is. I know most businesses can open DOCs, but most can open PDFs too

    Most larger companies prefer submissions in ASCII due to the fact that they use automated scanners to scan for key words...then if accepted (rather than rejected) it gets loaded into a back end database.

    send it see attached, and attach the resume so it opens in its own window and displays any special font or other details that you want it to show.

    Address the email like this.

    To whom it may concern:
    I'm am interested in a position with your company,{fill in any other information you want to share then end it like this} attached bellow is a copy of my resume

    I would say a doc file, but it would never hurt to call and ask.

    you should ask them. Our company can't open .doc files, and can open pdf's. Call. it's a simple question. and anyone there should be able to answer you. good luck!!
