When I did my resume, to avoid having to edit it for each company I wanted to send it to, my objective read:
"To obtain employment in your organization."

Yours can read: "To obtain a part-time retail position in your company or organization."

With the unemployment rates that exist in many areas of the United States employers are more likely to use the resume as a first impression. I would certainly use the "objective" to improve this impression. Try "looking for an exciting part time retail opportunity" instead.

You could say something fairly generic, such as:

To apply my skills in the role of retail associate.

It implies that you have skillls that are applicable to the job.
