My wife got into an accident with a train?

My wife was driving our car (a 2005 Lexus) and stopped at a rail crossing when suddenly a passenger train scrapped the car's front. Luckily, the train was moving very slowly due to it being near a station and the damage was minor.

The train could've stopped because they knew that my wife's car was too out front, but it didn't.

We will have to appear in traffic court and I wonder who would be wrong (at fault)? I don't want an inflated insurace.

They would probably put the blame on your wife's car. She had best maneuverability and should have had decent range with the stop gate. If the gate was not spaced correctly...go after the city. But most likely, it'll be your wife's fault.
