i didnt know that pet smart did training

from my experience the best thing to do is train the pup yourself, take it to classes and put in a lot of time and effort and it will pay off.

You could probably find a better trainer, but Petsmart training is better than nothing.

I've had two friends do their dogs there. One said it was crappy cuz they had a bad instructor and the other said it was the best! It just depends on who the instructor is. Check out a class before you enroll if possible to see who's gonna be teaching it

Had a labrador once and took it there. Too many dogs to try to train. And for a month session it was $100 too much. He doesn't go one on one with your dog. Your basically walking around the store by yourself and picking up after him. The session was an hour and it just wasn't worth it. I know have a blue and red heeler that I train myself now. Just the basics but at least I can spend the money on more treats for him. Good luck

Hi,
My name is Sandra and Ive been the lead Pet trainer at PetSmart for 7 years. Its UNFORTUNATE that some people have had some bad experiences with the training program there. But what I would do is go there and meet the trainer. Call and set up a free consultation with them so they can meet you and your dog. The classes in my state run $109 I'm not sure about where you are. Ive had wonderful success with the clientele that I have and in return I get trust and life long friends. You cant really take advice from people on here when it comes to that because not all the trainers are the same. Some are good, some are not so good, and some are fantastic. I would go meet the trainer. And then you decide. Good luck.

I have not personally tried it but the other day when I was there this one dog owner was just going on about how well they had trained her dog. I also got to see the dog do all the tricks he learned it was so cute : D

it's mostly about your efforts outside of class that result in a well behaved dog. the classes train YOU on how to train your dog because it's a constant effort, not something you work on during a few sessions a week.

people i know have gone to the petsmart trainings and got enough advice to work sucessfully with their dogs.
